Trustees approve NJROTC continuation, inspection-services contract and ICOE professional-development MOU
Summary
In a series of unanimous votes the board approved continuation of the NJROTC unit at Klexico High, a DSA inspection-services contract with Paragon Inspection Services LLC, and a memorandum of understanding with ICOE for reimbursed professional development services; the board also approved permanent PE exemptions for 11th graders at Klexico High.
Calexico Unified trustees approved several agreements and routine items in a block of agenda actions, voting 5-0 on each item.
The board approved an agreement with the Department of the Navy through Naval Service Training Command to continue a NJROTC unit at Klexico High School; the motion was made by Miss Calderon and seconded by Mr. Ariano. The board also approved an agreement with Paragon Inspection Services LLC to provide Division of the State Architect (DSA) inspector services for an energy-efficiency program affecting several elementary sites.
Separately, the board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Imperial County Office of Education Student Well-being and Family Resource Department for professional development. District staff explained ICOE will reimburse the district for a stipend for a district instructional-technology coach (named in the transcript as Mr. Jesusa/Werta) to deliver ICOE professional development. The board commented that the district hopes to retain that staff member.
The board also approved permanent physical-education exemptions for 11th-grade students at Klexico High School and confirmed no outstanding waivers remain for the year.
All motions were seconded and approved with recorded 5-0 votes.
