Dolton trustees highlight mental-health trainings, park programs and youth events

Angela Russell, representing Envision Unlimited, said the group offers free mental-health and wellness workshops every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Dalton Resource Hub and will run a half-day Mental Health First Aid certification next week at Flossmore Community Church; the full course is valued at $170, but it will be offered free to clergy and at $50 for other participants under the program's grant. Flyers are available at the meeting table.
Trustee Norwood outlined Dalton Park District activities including spring camp (April 6—10), a youth egg hunt and an adult egg hunt, and promoted a career day at Doridge High School on April 20 seeking employer participants for summer youth jobs. She also announced a free family skate night for Dolton residents on May 15 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Trustee Stan Brown described neighborhood cleanups related to recent flooding and promoted B Sewing Institute, a local sewing/trade program accepting students ages 17—24 for a 16-week course that teaches industrial sewing and related skills.
Trustees encouraged residents to contact event organizers or village staff for more information and said the village will continue outreach for these programs.
