Springfield Township committee adopts parking restriction ordinance, approves consent agenda and $2.48 million in payroll

The Springfield Township Committee on June 11 adopted Ordinance 2025-15, amending chapter 7 of the township code to designate streets where parking is prohibited at all times, and approved a package of resolutions and routine finance items.

At the meeting’s second reading, the committee opened and closed the public hearing with no members of the public speaking. Mayor Yuber then called the roll; Deputy Mayor Alfer, Committeeman Kaiser, Committeeman Capid, Committeeman Weber and Mayor Yuber each voted yes, and the ordinance was ordered published in the local paper with a publication date of June 19, 2025.

The committee also adopted resolutions listed as 2025-159 through 2025-180 on a consent agenda. The resolutions were moved, seconded and approved by the same recorded roll-call vote.

On finance matters the committee voted to adopt payroll and invoices for the period May 28 through June 11, 2025 in the amount of $2,478,136.53. The motion was seconded and passed on a unanimous roll call.

The meeting included announcements about upcoming public hearings: a Zoning Board of Adjustment session on June 17 at 6 p.m. for applications concerning 2–8 Edison Place and 7 Edison Place, and a Planning Board meeting on June 18 at 7:30 p.m. to consider adoption of a housing element and fair-share planning matters. The committee also noted other routine business, including library renovations and planned pavement work.
