Fire department reports record calls in 2025; department adds firefighters and expands training

The presenter described increased emphasis on emergency preparedness across the city, saying the department and city hosted ICS 300 and 400 training for department heads and supervisors and worked with event organizers to update emergency operations plans for large events such as the craft fair. "That's an important thing just for the safety of the community to make sure we're up to speed," the presenter said.
No council action was requested during the briefing; council members offered praise for the department's work and there were no follow‑up assignments recorded in this session.
