City staff told the East Grand Forks City Council on April 14 that two applicants for low‑potency hemp edible retail registrations have completed required inspections and local compliance checks and will be placed on next week’s council agenda for final approval.
Reed (city staff) said the applications from Hugo's Wine and Spirits and from Mellow Moods have been reviewed; Mellow Moods completed fire and building inspections, and both applicants have satisfied steps required by state and local ordinance. Reed said the Office of Cannabis Management notified city staff that Orton's Convenience Store holds state licensure but still needs to complete local registration and compliance checks before city approval.
No council vote occurred at the work session; staff said formal consideration and council action are scheduled for the next regular meeting.
