"Welcome to our new District website," the presenter said at the start of a guided tour of the site, demonstrating where families can find key information for students and staff.
The presenter walked through the top navigation, pointing out child development program listings and separate directories for elementary and middle school sites so parents can navigate directly to their child’s school. The demonstration highlighted a "Find It Fast" section intended as a shortcut to important family information, including bell schedules and bus routes.
The site includes a Board of Education section where agendas and minutes are posted for public review, and links to district departments and student- and family-facing resources. The presenter showed a pop‑out bulletin-board feature intended to promote district programs and initiatives and described a district events calendar in addition to individual school calendars.
At the bottom of the homepage, the presenter pointed to Title IX information, the district’s procedures and an option for anonymous reporting. The presenter also demonstrated a language selector so visitors can view the site in their preferred language.
As an example of a school page, the presenter opened the Merced City Elementary homepage and reviewed its top navigation, which includes portals such as "Join Our Team," "Find It Fast" and an LCAP information section. On the bell schedule page the presenter showed a downloadable bell‑schedule PDF and separate links for the regular day schedule and the Wednesday early‑out schedule.
The presenter closed the tour by thanking viewers: "Thank you for taking this time to tour our new MCSD website; we look forward to keeping you informed and connected."
