At its April 14 meeting the Scott County Visitors Commission voted to approve a $1,500 payment to support Shakespeare in the Park, a touring company scheduled to perform April 29 at Beachwood. A motion to approve was made, seconded and the chair called for objections; none were voiced and the motion passed.
Commissioners also heard an update on the Youth Art Competition: the event will be held at the Ruby Loft on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with approximately 50 student exhibits from Austin and Scottsburg schools and no admission charge.
Staff provided a brief update on a pigeon roost cleaning project at a county site, saying the chemical treatment is complete and residue should wash away with rain; no immediate follow‑up action was required.
