At its May 14 meeting the Perry County CVB updated members on an office relocation from the depot to a smaller annex space, discussed the disposition of large display panels and furnishings left at the depot, and invited further marketing reporting.
Director Eric said staff completed moving many items to the annex and that several large display boards — including an Indiana bicentennial handcrafted panel — remain at the depot. Board members agreed the bicentennial piece would be better preserved on public display rather than put into storage with fluctuating temperature and moisture; they asked the director to consult Mayor Kale and to inventory items before deciding whether to transfer them to a museum, loan them, or consider auctioning unclaimed pieces.
The director also told members he will cancel the depot PSC fiber/internet account after the May 31 payment and keep the depot key for occasional access during the transition. He reported that 2 Ladders’ work on the new website increased visibility and web traffic in April and that the board asked 2 Ladders to return next month for a full analytics presentation. The board approved staff attendance at the Indiana Tourism Association executive summit (May 19, Jasper Parklands; $149 registration).
Next steps: staff will inventory depot items, consult the mayor about display placement, cancel the depot internet service after May 31, and arrange a follow-up marketing presentation with 2 Ladders.
