The board adopted a resolution directing the reduction and then approved the personnel action under Minnesota Statute 122A.40, subdivision 10, which governs unrequested leaves for reasons including lack of pupils. The resolution text in the packet specified the action and required notice be placed in the teacher’s personnel file.
Board chair read the resolution and the board voted by roll call with all members present voting in favor. The resolution’s notice directs the administration to forward the notice and copy of the resolution to the teacher and place an affidavit in the personnel file.
What the action means
Board materials and discussion described the step as part of the district’s annual review of programs and staffing aligned to projected course enrollments. The action reduces instructional staffing for business education by the specified fractional FTE; the district indicated it will follow statutory notification procedures and collective-bargaining obligations.
