On May 4 the New Berlin Planning Commission denied a sign-waiver request from TrueStar Financial Credit Union and took a series of procedural land-use actions.
Staff described a sign-waiver request for the TrueStar branch on West National Avenue seeking a sign larger than the code limit (staff characterized the request as about 20.5 square feet larger per side than allowed). A motion to deny the waiver was made and the commission voted unanimously to deny the request, citing consistency with past practice on sign-size waivers.
The commission also considered and approved staff recommendations for several other items: a one-lot certified survey map for Alan Ryan Bassett at 19540 West Highland Drive; LD2600333, a one-lot certified survey map for NVG LLC/New Berlin Grading at West Lincoln Avenue to consolidate two parcels; and UA260034, architectural approval for an 11,520-square-foot agricultural building at 20203 West Lonsdale Road (applicant Walter Buildings on behalf of Workman Enterprise). Each of those items was approved by voice vote.
ESP260056, a conceptual subdivision review for Fields at Historic Coffee Road by J Holdings LLC, was heard as a concept plan (two alternatives: 21 lots and 24 lots) and was discussed for feedback only; staff noted that final plat requirements and stormwater/grading details will be reviewed at preliminary plan stage. The meeting adjourned at 06:34 PM.
