The New Berlin Planning Commission on May 4 approved a conditional use permit for a temporary mobile concrete batch plant to operate at the Johnson Sand and Gravel site on South Crowbar Road.
Staff presented the application for CU2600269, describing the location (6600–6666 South Crowbar Road), aerial maps, sample plant templates and proposed conditions that mirror prior temporary batch-plant approvals used during Moreland Road work. Staff said the applicant would follow the listed work-hour restrictions and other conditions in the staff report.
The chair opened the public-hearing portion of the meeting and asked for speakers in favor and opposition. No members of the public spoke; staff reported one written communication in opposition had been received. Commissioner [Commissioner] moved to approve the conditional use; the motion was seconded and the commission approved it unanimously by voice vote.
The commission’s approval includes the standard conditions described in the application and staff report. The matter will proceed to any further permit steps required by city staff and any applicable county or state permitting processes.
