Board approves personnel recommendations; superintendent highlights spring school tour and upcoming visits

Jessica Anderson, executive director of Exceptional Children and Student Services (standing in for Dr. Clure), asked the board to approve the personnel slate. The motion was made and seconded and the board approved the recommendations by voice vote.
In his superintendent's report, Dr. Bill Griffin described the board's spring tour of schools, noted that local and state officials joined the visits (Senator Settle, Representative Blair Edins, Ronnie Reese representing county commissioners, and county manager Justin Mundy), and thanked staff and students for their participation. He highlighted upcoming events: Alexander Early College prom this weekend, Alexander Central High School prom on April 25, and a visit by State Superintendent Mo Green to East Alexander Middle School on April 30 to showcase a Golden LEAF grant. Griffin encouraged faculty and students to finish the school year strong.
The board then discussed logistics and confirmed event times would be distributed to members. Later in the meeting, a motion was made and seconded to end open session and enter closed session; that motion was also approved by voice vote.
