The Manhattan Beach City Council met on April 27, 2026, approved its agenda and recessed for a closed session; after returning to open session the acting city attorney reported there was no reportable action, according to the transcript.
Council member Sheran moved to approve the agenda and Council member Hobert seconded; the motion was recorded in the transcript as "Motion passes 5 Z." A roll call earlier in the meeting recorded Council member Tarna, Council member Sherillian and Council member Hoart, and Mayors Proton Franklin and Leser as present.
The council then recessed to a closed session. The acting city attorney reported on reconvening: "In accordance with California Government Code section 54957.1, there is no reportable action coming out of the close session that the city council just had," the acting city attorney said.
With no public commenters in chambers and no Zoom requests, the council closed the public-comment period and moved on to the closed-session items. The meeting concluded with an announcement that boards and commissions interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the city council chambers.
The meeting adjourned after the scheduling announcement.
