The Northern Lebanon School District Board of Directors opened its April 14 meeting by recognizing dozens of student musicians and the local FFA chapter for recent competitive selections and community service.
Superintendent Dr. Messinger introduced Mr. Poole to read the names of chorus and band students who attended festivals and county/region events. The board identified a long list of chorus members and instrumentalists and applauded high‑school students who advanced to district and region bands. Two students, Levi Bucks and Braden Marburger, were singled out for All‑State festival selection: Levi for jazz band (noted as the state's top baritone sax in the presentation) and Braden as a top bassoonist in concert band.
FFA advisor Lisa Bolts and students Haley Mullen (chapter president), Brielle McFeeters (vice president) and Alexis (chapter secretary) reported on chapter activity: monthly meetings, county and state competitions (parliamentary procedure, chapter-conduct and individual public-speaking placements), approximately 50 fall CDE competitors and about 65 spring CDE participants, SAE project examples and greenhouse/floriculture successes. Bolts said the chapter met requirements for chapter 339 approval and emphasized supervised AET recordkeeping and student leadership.
Board members thanked students and staff and agreed to add the student recognition list to the meeting minutes and to take a group photo for social media; the district invited the public to attend the May 7 band concert.
