Burr Ridge board adopts FY2027 budget, emphasizes services funded by local levy

The village of Burr Ridge on Monday adopted its fiscal year 2027 budget, with trustees voting unanimously to approve the ordinance that funds the village's operations from May 1, 2026, through April 30, 2027.

Evan, speaking for village staff, said the public hearing had been held earlier and that the copy of the budget was included in the board packet; he noted the board could not accept further changes at the meeting because this was the final action required before certification with DuPage and Cook counties. "This is the final action in the budget process," Evan said.

Trustees highlighted services supported by the local levy. One trustee noted the village's roughly 1.5% share of a resident's property-tax bill pays for "24-hour police protection," roadway maintenance and snow plowing, among other services. Trustees also thanked staff for preparing readable budget documents that helped build confidence in the figures.

After discussion the board moved, seconded and adopted the ordinance by roll-call vote; all six trustees present voted yes. The clerk recorded the motion as passing.

The budget resolution includes Exhibit A, which trustees noted contains the detailed expenditure tables that form the budget's basis. Evan said staff would certify the approved ordinance with the counties and then proceed with administrative steps to implement the spending plan.
