Mary Lindala, county auditor‑treasurer, said the county received 11 bids ranging from $72,500 to $198,956 and recommended DRC Inc. as the lowest qualified bidder; the county will pay the contract from the blight fund. She said the project is expected to begin midsummer and take about two weeks once work starts.
The board discussed whether an on‑site well remains and whether it would be preserved for potential municipal future use; staff said the building condition prevents immediate verification and that any well encountered would be evaluated and sealed or protected as required during demolition. The county also plans to auction the cleared parcel; Lindala reported an estimated market value for the bare lot at $16,100, with proceeds to return to the blight fund.
A commissioner noted bids came in lower than earlier estimates because market conditions reduced contractor workloads. The board approved the contract by voice vote.
