The DeKalb County Board of Education approved its consent agenda and several routine administrative items during the April 9 meeting.
The board approved consent items A–G by voice vote after a motion by Eric Irvin and a second from Jason Miller. The consent agenda included approval of the meeting agenda, minutes from the March 12, 2026 regular meeting, budget amendments, FY26–27 CTE Perkins basic and reserve grant budgets, and career-and-technical-education course codes, and authorized board members to attend the TSBA summer law conference in Gatlinburg.
Separately, the board moved to increase the mileage reimbursement rate from 71 cents to 72.5 cents in order to comply with IRS guidelines. That motion was made by Danny Parkerson, seconded by Alan Hayes, and carried by the board.
The board also considered and adopted textbooks for wellness/foundations of health; industrial maintenance and mechatronics; precision machining and technology; and principles of information technology. The motion to adopt was made by Eric Irvin and seconded by Jason Miller; the motion carried.
The personnel report was announced as not available this month, and a board member offered personal remarks of appreciation before the board adjourned. Jason Miller moved to adjourn; Eric Irvin seconded and the meeting was declared adjourned.
No public comments were registered for the meeting, and the record contains no pending referrals or further committee assignments for these items.
