Town manager reports rebid for park repairs, possible county fire-inspection fees, surplus-auction proceeds and continued brush collection

Park repair rebid: The manager said the park repair project was at the formal bidding threshold and received only one bid, which triggered a statutory requirement to reject and rebid; a rebid has been advertised with a bid-opening scheduled for Feb. 18. The manager recommended a possible special meeting to consider the lowest responsive bidder before the regular March meeting so work can start in time to prioritize baseball-field repairs.
County fire-inspection fee: The county is reportedly considering instituting a fee for fire inspections; the manager said the county had not decided and that the town should be notified of any proposed structure (flat fee or square-footage-based) so the town can consider whether to charge businesses if the town must cover inspection costs.
Surplus auction and donations: Staff reported the surplus equipment auction brought in more than $26,000 against a budgeted $20,000 in revenue. The manager said the town would consider a March resolution to authorize donating one surplus Dodge to another jurisdiction affected by the storm (procedural steps will follow).
Brush collection: Public Works has resumed storm-related brush collection, completing pickups at 79 addresses in the initial four days; crews are proceeding street by street and staging material near the Green Building for county contractor pickup.
Council asked questions and staff indicated follow-up actions (rebid schedule, possible special meeting, and tracking county decisions on inspection fees).
