Detective Sha Leadford of the Newman City Police Department appealed to the public on an unsolved 2014 homicide, asking anyone with information to come forward to help identify those responsible for the death of Reginald “Reggie” Singfield.
Leadford said officers responded on April 2, 2014, to a report of a shooting at 9 Maryanne Street in Newman City and found Singfield suffering from a gunshot wound in the yard; he was pronounced dead at the scene. “We believe that someone that was either there that night or who has since learned what happened holds the key to solving this case and bringing justice to Reginald and his family,” Leadford said.
She said detectives have followed up on numerous leads and conducted extensive investigative work over the years but have not identified the people responsible for the killing. Leadford asked that anyone who knows anything about the events that led to Mr. Singfield’s death contact her, Detective Gonzalez, or Lieutenant Robinson at the Newman City Police Department. Tips may also be submitted anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater Atlanta; Leadford said a reward is available for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
The department did not provide additional details about suspects or arrests in the transcript. Leadford urged members of the public to call or submit information to help bring closure to Singfield’s family and to aid the ongoing investigation.
