The public affairs committee approved the minutes from its previous meeting and set dates and a location for upcoming community engagement events.
The chair moved to approve the prior meeting minutes and a committee member seconded; Council person Gernzie and Council person Mendoza voted yes and the chair announced the minutes were approved. The committee then reviewed arrangements for its informal "combos with council" meetings, which the chair said previously drew six council members and four members of the public at an earlier session held March 5 at Bucks Bar.
"We'll plan to do our next combos with council on Thursday, June 4th at 6:30 in the shelter building at the city park," the chair said, adding that the shelter is located off the alley near the water department. The chair said the administrative assistant confirmed the shelter building is currently available and offered to make reservations.
Committee members discussed cadence and format, agreeing to continue quarterly meetings and that a 6:30 p.m. start time worked well. The committee also confirmed its next regular public affairs committee meeting will fall on the third Tuesday in June, June 16.
The chair opened the floor for public comment; no members of the public spoke. The meeting was adjourned at 5:06 p.m.
