Judy Nigber elected chair as board notes per-diem cut

Judy Nigber was elected chair of the Marquette County Board of Health by voice vote at the board’s May 5 meeting and took over proceedings after her election.

The board approved the meeting agenda and later placed the March 3, 2026 minutes on file. Earlier in the meeting, staff informed members that a county‑board rule change had reduced per‑diems for these board meetings from $75 to $50. County administrator Ron Marger said the change was made to “be part of the solution with our financial situation,” and members acknowledged the modest reduction.

After her election, Nigber chaired the remainder of the meeting, which included routine approvals and scheduling. The board confirmed its regular meeting schedule (next meeting June 2, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.) and discussed outreach opportunities, including a June 14 community event where public‑health staff may set up an information booth.
