Maran council approves hiring and swears-in patrol officer Matthew Gayer

He added with dry humor that "I miss driving fast and shooting guns," a remark the council treated jocularly during the brief exchange before the swearing-in.
Council members and staff arranged for Gayer to sign his oath and complete administrative steps the next morning. The hiring was presented as a routine personnel action and was approved without amendment.
