The senior director of facilities planning told the board the county wants a realistic cost estimate and may instead pursue a capital request next year if field inspections show a larger replacement need.
Commissioners directed staff to clarify the technical scope, consider a site re‑walk for prospective bidders and, if necessary, shift the work to a future capital appropriation to ensure the county budgets appropriately for the correct remedy.
