Mr. Kajiano said the subcommittee had met for several months to parse audit findings and would align work with the city’s budget process and priorities. Committee members noted some audit details are confidential and that larger projects will be scheduled as funds allow. The audit will be used as a rolling plan with annual updates.
Dr. Kelly emphasized that the district’s schools are "very safe" and said the audit is intended to further reduce risk and close gaps identified by outside reviewers. The committee approved the audit process and signaled support for phased implementation tied to the forthcoming budget.
