Judy shared proposed plaque text and asked the committee whether to pursue a lower-cost sign or a stone/bronze plaque. The board agreed to draft suggested plaque language and forward it to state contacts and the town attorneys for permission and concurrence on form and placement.
The committee also reviewed demolition cost estimates conveyed by staff and a contact named Jared: removing the mash building was estimated at about $33,000, while removing building three would be about $22,000, for combined demolition costs near $55,000. Members discussed whether to remove slabs and how to prioritize parking location relative to demolition work.
No final demolition contract was awarded at the meeting; the committee agreed to refine scope, check state preferences for plaque material and placement, and communicate with attorneys before proceeding.
