"We did a call for projects on May 1st last year ... Since that time, we have 27 candidate eligible projects for funding consideration requesting just shy of 1.3 billion," NVTA staff member Miss Beckman told the authority. She recommended a public comment period running April 2 through May 17 and a public hearing on May 14, which coincides with the authority's May meeting.
The authority's schedule calls for a public‑comment briefing at the June 11 meeting and committee briefings during the June cycle, with a planned program adoption vote at the July 9 meeting. Beckman said staff and finance are developing revenue estimates and cautioned that the region does not have $1.3 billion on hand.
