Commission selects student-designed commemorative sticker for city’s 25th anniversary

The Liberty Lake Parks and Arts Commission selected a student-designed commemorative sticker May 4 to mark the city’s 25th anniversary and the nation’s 250th year.
Staff reported six submissions from students at Spokane Valley Tech or local schools. Commissioners polled preferences and a straw poll favored design number 3 for its simplicity and broad appeal; some commissioners also liked design number 1 for local imagery.
The commission voted to authorize staff (Male Stevens) to order stickers based on design #3, to be printed and distributed from the programming budget. Commissioners asked staff to inquire whether the student artist would be willing to incorporate a small “LL” or other subtle Liberty Lake identifier into the design; staff will follow up with the student artist before printing.
The stickers will be printed in a slightly larger size than the submitted proofs and are intended for free distribution at city events.
