Brentwood board spotlights new high-school mariachi and honors student musicians

The performance drew applause from the board and attendees.
President Eileen Felix and other board members praised the students and staff. Felix thanked parents for support and highlighted the students’ selection for regional and state ensembles, including the New York State School Music Association All‑State Band and Chorus and several county and Long Island festival ensembles. The board presented certificates recognizing musical participation during the 2025–2026 school year.
Board members also recognized visual‑arts students whose work has been exhibited at local and regional venues, citing displays at the Heckscher Museum of Art and the Suffolk County Community College High School Art Exhibition. The board thanked the district’s music and arts teachers for their role in preparing students for competitions and performances.
