City staff said they were preparing internal briefings and would provide background so elected officials could deliberate with appropriate information.
Rose described the issue as an occupational health and public‑safety concern that intersects with state presumption law, union representation and potential legislative change. The committee did not take formal action at the May 6 meeting but directed staff to prepare background materials for a June discussion.
