The presenter explained the count reflected a recent Friday tally and noted weekend and holiday processing can affect the number before arraignments.
The sheriff asked the board to authorize entering an alternate-sentencing agreement with the Alfond Wallowus camp for a week-long program scheduled May 1–8. The county’s requested contribution to support the week-long camp was $2,200 toward estimated overall program costs of about $18,112 for housing, food and lodging. Commissioners approved the agreement 2-0.
The sheriff also requested and received approval for three in-car recording systems and one spare body camera as the department transitions from local data storage to a cloud-based system. The presenter described the purchase as a five-year subscription with a contract life cost of $31,074 and a first-year total of $9,600; commissioners voted 2-0 to approve.
No public comment or objections were recorded on these items during the meeting. The approvals will allow the sheriff’s office to execute the camp agreement and proceed with procurement of the in-car and body-camera systems.
