At second and final reading the council approved Ordinance 1239 to rezone 1408 Sanheisy Drive (tax map 169K-J9) from C2 (general commercial) to R2 (residential duplex). Planning staff said the applicant, Alan Jones, proposes two duplex units of approximately 1,200 square feet per unit and that the Planning Commission recommended approval.
An engineering stormwater assessment was completed and staff told council the existing stormwater infrastructure can adequately accommodate the additional runoff from the proposed development; one council member asked about clearing local drains and staff offered to follow up with the city engineer to determine whether private drains need cleaning.
Council approved the ordinance on roll call (Vice Mayor Tyler Yes; Council member Kaggel No; Council member Isel No; Council member Wit Yes; Mayor Williams Yes). The rezoning will allow the applicant to proceed with site and building permits subject to applicable codes.
