Board approves $3.0M Green County ESC agreement, personnel items and safety-officer job description

At its March 12 meeting the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Local School District Board approved the superintendent’s consent agenda and several notable operational items, including a $3.0 million services agreement with the Green County Educational Service Center and a new job description for a district school safety officer.

Superintendent’s consent-agenda recommendations for licensure, employment, resignations, leaves and substitutes were approved by roll-call vote. The board then approved the district’s annual service agreement with the Green County ESC for the 2026–27 school year at $3.0 million, an increase from $2.9 million, citing added mental-health services and continued preschool and supplemental supports.

Board members described the ESC as providing preschool programming, occupational/physical therapy and mental-health services to the district; the approved contract adds one additional day of mental-health services to the district’s package.

The board also approved a revised job description for a school safety officer as a staffing approach to ensure daily safety coverage at both the middle and high schools. The proposal described a partnership with Sugarcreek Township in which the township would staff a full-time SRO while the district would hire its own school safety officer to work on safety plans, daily coverage and after-hours needs as required.

Other motions approved included out-of-state travel for high-school girls lacrosse, an overnight boys-soccer trip to Tiffin, Ohio, and the schedule of 2026 summer athletic youth camps (girls basketball, football, girls soccer, softball, volleyball, cheerleading and cross-country). All votes were recorded as five yeses.
