Parents and swimmers urge more pool time and fee relief for South Lyon Aquatics

It makes me feel strong and teaches me to work hard and never give up,” and asked the board to consider allocating pool time based on demand rather than historical restrictions. An 8‑year‑old swimmer said families pay taxes and should be able to use facilities in their town.
Board members acknowledged the comments, said administration is working with SLA leadership to find solutions, and asked staff to continue engaging with the club so pool access and fee structures better support youth programming while balancing district operational constraints.
No formal policy change or vote occurred; trustees directed administration to continue discussions with SLA leadership and to report back on feasible options.
