Board hears report of large cracks in newly refinished tennis courts as sectional play approaches

Facilities committee member Richtor reported that several courts exhibit deep cracks "like I said they're a good inch inch and a half wide," and said repair work will require several days of warm weather. Committee staff said the timing is urgent because the district will host sectionals this year and needs usable courts.
Trustees and staff discussed possible causes including environmental factors, drainage changes made during construction and potential undermining; committee members said they would investigate whether workmanship or materials warrant warranty claims. Administrators also asked staff to check nearby park and pickle‑ball courts for similar damage and to prioritize a timetable for remediation so the courts are safe for competition.
The board received the report and directed staff to return with an assessment and recommendations for repair or warranty follow‑up.
