Morrisville engineering director says Carolina Street will close about 2–3 months for streetscape reconstruction

Spanoli said crews have completed some initial utility work for the Town Center, noting "some of the black asphalt patches where we did some sewer work and some water service work" to service the future Town Center Green behind the fenced area adjacent to the library. The work reported was limited to foundations and early utility installations; Spanoli did not provide contract names or cost figures.
On the scope of the upcoming roadway work, Spanoli said the town plans to "reconstruct Carolina Street to create more of a streetscape look," describing changes that will include a wider paved area, pavers in the roadway and "an enhanced sidewalk" running from Town Hall Drive to Church Street. He said the closure is intended to allow that reconstruction work to proceed.
The update contained no formal vote or motion; Spanoli closed the briefing by saying the town looks "forward to our next update."
