Senate adopts standing committee reports and refers governor's nominations

At a routine session, the Senate approved the journal of the preceding day, recorded attendance of 23 present and two excused, and referred a set of governor's nominations to appropriate committees, the clerk said.
Senator Kim introduced members of her staff, thanking her office manager Kathy Nee and committee clerk Sierra Jansen and noting staffer Ann Mahi's background in education. "She has been a wealth of knowledge and she knows where all the bones are buried," Senator Kim said.
The clerk announced Governor's messages numbers 704 through 712 transmitting nominations to various boards and commissions; those messages were referred in accordance with the order of the day, the clerk said.
Senator Waka moved for the adoption of Senate committee reports numbers 2310 to 2378. Senator DI Court seconded the motion. The motion was moved and seconded and, with no objections from members, the chair declared the motion carried.
There were additional announcements: majority members were asked to report to the majority caucus room immediately following the session. Senator Waka then moved that the Senate stand adjourned until 11:30 AM the following day; Senator DI Court seconded, and the chair declared the Senate adjourned.
No votes on bills or ordinances were recorded in the minutes beyond the adoption of the committee reports and the adjournment motions.
