The committee said it is teaming with existing town events — notably the summer block party — and has drafted a $30,000 budget that covers a 15-minute fireworks show (lowest quote approximately $19,000), police and fire details, portable toilets and sanitation. Committee members said they prefer an expanded 25-to-30-minute fireworks finale and are seeking additional fundraising, including a proposed veterans' pledge to help raise roughly $67,000 for a half-hour display.
Organizers outlined potential viewing areas (Rogers Road Field, Bay State Common and Hastings School fields) and said the exact launch site will be chosen with the fireworks vendor for safety and sightlines. The committee also described education and historical programming for schools and tours with local historical societies.
Committee leaders said they are seeking assistance with promotion and thanked town staff for coordination; the board encouraged further fundraising and publicity plans ahead of town meeting and scheduled public outreach.
