Senator Ball presented SF 36-13, describing amendments to several statutes governing township operations, including permission for clerks to notarize township records, authority for townships to convey certain easements, rules for temporary appointments and deputy officers, and clarifications to the process for forming new townships. Matty Cash of the Minnesota Association of Townships testified the changes address operational challenges in small rural townships and that stakeholders including the Secretary of State and commerce officials cleared the amended language. Committee members took the testimony and laid the bill over for possible inclusion.
