Chair Mr. Thirstston said crews will perform planned water tie-ins for the Embrace downtown project late this month that may require 6-to-8-hour water shutdowns in affected blocks; officials said affected residents and businesses will receive door-hanger notices and that a 24-hour boil advisory will be in effect for drinking water where the advisory applies. "When I say boil water, that is if you're going to drink it," he said.
The committee also discussed Pleasant Street phase two, expected to require about 45 days of work beginning around March 16, weather permitting; the board of works later clarified the closure will close north-south traffic on 16th Street while keeping Pleasant Street open end-to-end. Committee members also noted $6 million in grant awards for two state/federal-aid projects and previewed upcoming public information meetings on INDOT projects through Noblesville.
Officials asked residents to consult maps and the city website for detours and updates. The council did not take additional action; staff said they will post advance notices and coordinate directly with affected businesses and households.
