Town approves $935,920 water and sewer capital project budget amendment

Aberdeen — On Aug. 12 the Aberdeen Town Board approved Amendment No. 2 to its Water & Sewer Capital Project budget, raising the project budget to $935,920 to reflect received bids and the town’s funding share.
Staff explained the bids were returned earlier in the year and that the recommended amendment draws on water and sewer capital reserve funds plus a payment from the Pineur Resort Country Club PID (as listed in the packet). Chair and staff emphasized the amendment does not create new positions and that the town’s capital reserves already include the necessary funds.
Board action: after a motion and second, the board approved the amendment by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will update the fund ledgers and proceed with contracting for the project.
