During discussion, board members noted that the property has been zoned LI for many years and remains undeveloped. Some members urged caution about converting industrial land to residential uses, citing proximity to existing industrial activity and topography that may limit industrial marketability.
Officials emphasized that no annexation or rezoning decision was made at the Feb. 10 meeting; the Feb. 24 hearings will allow public testimony and additional staff exhibits showing surrounding zoning and site context.
The clerk’s certificate acceptance and hearing scheduling were approved by voice vote.
