Town Manager Paul updated the board on storm recovery, parks and the library during the Nov. 24 meeting. The manager said the town’s water and sewer FEMA public‑assistance claim is roughly $1.45 million and that the total claim for the storm is likely over $2 million; staff are working through reviews and expect more formal federal action soon.
Paul also said the town’s stormwater report (prepared with LKC) is still in draft and staff aim to present preliminary findings at the December meeting and a more complete assessment early next year. He emphasized the difference between large, expensive repairs (which may require external funding and rate changes) and smaller, manageable fixes board may address in phases.
On parks, Paul said four new pickleball courts adjacent to an existing parking lot are completed and expected to open within days; the town will add wind screens and signage soon and plan daytime‑only play until lights are installed. He reported the new Aberdeen Public Library is through punch‑list work and staff expect to schedule opening ceremonies in mid‑January, subject to final awning deliveries and moving schedules.
Public works and planning staff will bring a preliminary water/sewer capacity report to help commissioners assess development applications and to plan for future infrastructure investments.
