The first amendment, described by the town manager and finance presenter Mr. Watson as a $60,000 adjustment to the 2024–25 capital budget, will pay for a new, air-cooled fountain with lighting capability, a new pump and vegetation/visitation control at Aberdeen Lake. During a public hearing the board heard the rationale that the existing fountain is aged, difficult to maintain and uses obsolete cooling components.
