Local Option Review Team recommends Wholestone Farms amendment request to City Council

Fremont, Neb. — The City of Fremont Local Option Review Team voted Feb. 25 to recommend that the City Council consider an amendment request from Wholestone Farms Cooperative.
Angie Olson, the city’s Plan Administrator, introduced the item, outlined the request and answered members’ questions. A representative of Wholestone Farms Cooperative provided additional information to the panel.
Member Jensen moved to recommend Wholestone’s amendment request to the City Council; Member Meister seconded. The motion carried 4-0. Members voting in favor were Eairleywine, Lathrop, Meister and Jensen. Member Mueller was recorded as absent.
Earlier in the session the team approved the minutes from the Dec. 2, 2025 meeting after a motion by Member Meister and a second from Member Eairleywine; the minutes record the approval as carried 4-0 with Member Mueller absent. The panel also received an overview of the fund balance and the quarterly report from Olson; no formal actions were taken on those items.
The recommendation forwarded by the Local Option Review Team is advisory and moves Wholestone’s amendment request to the City Council for its consideration and any final action. The team adjourned at 1:32 p.m.
