Staff conducting logistics announced live interpretation would be available in three languages for the virtual meeting. An interpreter stated, “They are Cantonese, Arabic, and Spanish,” and staff checked for raised hands; with none raised, no interpretation was started.
Rick Shaw, staff member, conducted roll call and noted that student director Simmons and student director Smith were absent. The clerk reported a quorum was present for the special meeting.
After returning from closed session, the presiding officer stated the board had discussed the labor negotiators item and then adjourned. The board did not take any recorded public votes or other formal actions on the public record during the session.
