Conservation Board to use county fiscal sponsorship for grant applications through FY26

Michelle Spanogle, director of the Conservation Board, asked the Page County board to provide fiscal sponsorship for the remainder of the fiscal year so the Conservation Board could submit multiple grant applications without seeking board signatures for each one.
"I'm just here to ask for fiscal sponsorship for the rest of the fiscal year instead of ... we had done it specifically for a grant last time," Spanogle said, explaining that a broader sponsorship would ease administrative burden and cover an upcoming Clarenda Foundation application due in June.
A motion to approve fiscal sponsorship for fiscal year 2026 was made and seconded on the floor; the board voted in favor. Board members discussed logistics for signatures and contact information so the county could sign the sponsorship forms. Spanogle said she would return in July to request sponsorship for the next fiscal year if needed.
