Commission approves Mayfield at Broadstone site plan for 252 residential units behind post office

The Leverne Planning Commission approved a site plan Feb. 24 for the Mayfield at Broadstone: a multifamily residential project of 252 dwelling units on about 9.33 acres behind the post office off Lillian Buchanan Drive.
Staff said the plan shows three residential buildings, a clubhouse amenity center, and substantial exterior masonry (brick and stone) consistent with the downtown overlay. The developer’s design places parking in the center of the site with buildings framing the lot edges. Planning and engineering staff reported no outstanding planning comments; remaining utilities comments were addressed by the applicant’s engineer in a recent resubmittal and cleared at staff review.
Commissioners asked about the long‑standing paving issue for Lillian Buchanan Drive; Gary (staff) reported the road was scheduled to be paved Friday and Saturday and that the developer had coordinated with the city and contractor. Alderman Coats moved approval and Mayor Cole seconded; the commission approved the site plan on a voice vote.
