Gulf County moves forward on port property, floating dry dock funding and sports‑complex land purchase

Officials said the dry dock funding will help advance ship‑repair capability, a marine academy and related job‑training and business‑incubator opportunities. Industry partners at the meeting praised the county’s clear plan for port development and said the appropriation would accelerate planned training and economic activity.
Commissioners also authorized staff to pursue grant funding for a bike path corridor between Cape and Indian Pass, following a public comment from a resident who cited safety and SunTrail eligibility. Commissioners acknowledged these infrastructure and economic development steps are multi‑year and dependent on grant awards and legislative appropriations.
