Montgomery County’s animal-shelter leadership told the Fiscal Court on Oct. 22 that the shelter continues to operate at a high live-release rate and that revenue from adoptions and services has supported operations.
Chris Moore, introduced as chair of the animal-shelter advisory board, presented quarterly statistics: previous quarter intake 222 with 185 releases; the current quarter recorded 199 intakes and 192 releases. The shelter reported that cost-of-service calls rose from 37 to 84 and that revenue from adoption fees, donations, reclaim fees and microchipping totaled $12,130 for the quarter.
Moore told the court the shelter retained a 'no-kill' status, reporting a 96.3% live-release rate for the year to date. The court was given a copy of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter policy and procedure manual, recommended by the advisory board, and the court approved the manual during the meeting.
