He described the project as a priority to bring flood relief to the village and said village staff will continue to apply for grant funding to defray local costs.
Moses also briefed the council on related capital work: two alleys scheduled for fall reconstruction with direct notices to affected businesses and residents, and planning for two major water‑main projects and lead‑service replacements contingent on state grant outcomes. He warned that available local dollars will not stretch as far due to rising costs, shifting more of the local burden to municipal budgets if external grants are not secured.
Next steps: the 15th Street project is scheduled to be completed before Thanksgiving (as stated by the administrator); staff will continue grant applications and notify the council of funding developments and project timelines.
